About me

Hi, I’m Cooper, a nine-pound rescue puppy. I live in Chicagoland with my mom Linda and dad Tony. I’m told I’m a shih tzu/teacup poodle mix, with maybe a little somethin’ somethin’ mixed in. All I know is people tell me I’m cute!

I plan to share my story, exploits and observations here, with some help from my mom. The ending of my story is more fun than the beginning, but bear with me. I was rescued from a crowded trailer full of puppies downstate by my heroes at the Wright-Way shelter who cleaned me up and took me and my litter mates to a wonderful foster home. My foster family cared for me until I was 8 weeks old, then they brought me to the shelter in Niles. They say I was smaller than a Coke can (or as my mom would say, Diet Dr. Pepper can.)

My parents found me on online and fell in love. (They met that way too, but this is my blog). Petfinder.com is the eharmony of pets! I was asleep with my litter mates when they first laid eyes on me. I was a three-pound ball of black fur. I knew they were my family right off the bat. They cuddled me, played a little and promised to love and care for me forever. On the long ride home, they decided to name me Cooper. And so my story begins…

My first day at home!
